Unreal 5.6 View Models

New features in Unreal 5.6 that came out a few weeks ago! View model plugin and MetaSound Widget Presets!

Native Unreal and Wwise are pretty different. It's an uphill battle if you're trying to get Unreal to act like Wwise. That said, I do miss a having the Wwise features in Unreal. I really like being able to tweak the low pass or high pass filters in Wwise on the fly. The new view model features are pretty great for setting these knobs up for sounds in Native Unreal. Still a very new thing in Unreal and I'm sure we'll be seeing some really cool stuff come out of this.

Here's a MetaSound graph I have it on. What's cool is it grabs the parameters by name.

And here's the little patch for the LPF + HPF to make it a bit cleaner

All you would need to do after setting things up is go into the preset widget and add whatever sounds you wish to have the widget on.

Would be nice, but you can't change the values in real-time and have to stop and start PIE in order to hear your changes with the adjustments. However, being able to listen back without loading pie in real-time is nice.
